Creating Quality Bulldogges, a Few Paws at a Time
We are a small, family-operated producer of Olde English Bulldogges located in Port Clinton, Ohio who takes pride in what we do. Our dogges are born and raised in our home with our children, family, and close friends.
Originally we were going to get an English Bulldog, but after doing the research, Olde English Bulldogges are the closest breed to the EB and a much healthier alternative.

Our guarantee is based on our SHIFT philosophy:
Our puppies are DNA and health tested and hip/elbow certified. Our selective breedings diminish major health problems of the breed.
Our puppies are champion bloodlines, generational purebred, blue ribbon, and can be registered at IOEBA, NBA, ABKC, and/or BBA. They will have a two-year guarantee, tails docked, dew claws removed, micro-chipped, up-to-date vaccinations, dewormed, vet health certified, puppy transitioning pack, and lifetime support from us.

Frequently Asked Questions
What made you decide to breed OEB?
Originally I was looking into getting a family dog for my children like the English Bulldog, which is known for their temperament. I myself have always loved bully breeds. Coincidentally, one of my friends had puppies of OEBs and naturally I did not know the difference between OEBs and EBs. After extensive research, I have found OEBs are the healthier alternative breed to EBs.
What makes you different from other breeders?
I have a career profession in healthcare, so breeding bulldogges is a hobby for me. Having a medical background has given me transparency and ethical values. When it comes to health, there is a saying of “honesty is the best policy”. The same concepts goes to the health and temperament of my dogges. I tell the truth and I stand behind my production. Moreover, Bullies By The Lake is not a high volume kennel as I only have one to two litters a year. Our dogges are health tested and raised with our children for Grade A temperament as pet companions.
Why is your health guarantee tied to your dog food Life’s Abundance?
There is a saying “you are what you eat” and this stays true to its phrase. I have my dogges on Life’s Abundance regular All Life Stages to provide moderate amount of the protein intake. With this specific breed, too much protein, fat, and calcium in their diet during puppy phase may negatively effect the joint development due to their rapid growth rate thus causing hip and elbow dysplasia. These skeletal disorders came from three risk factors: diet, environmental hazards, and genetics. If these factors are lessened then chances of developing hip and elbow dysplasia will also be less.
The two year health guarantee also reflects to my choice of dog food as my bloodline and program takes at least two years, if not longer, for their structures to reach maturity stage.
Why are your your dogges so expensive?
A true reputable breeder will always break even with the money being put in as well as the money going out. It cost a good amount of money to correctly provide a safe living environment, premium nutrition, health maintenance, and social interaction activities. Cutting corners with funds is not my mode of operation when it comes to my dogges and puppies. I did not found my program to make fast cash but considered it as a long term commitment built in a gradual and prudent way.
My dogges are purebred, have earned titles behind their names, and registered at IOEBA, NBA, ABKC, and BBA. Their lineage are champions for a reason, excellent health and temperament. I also chose the foundation of my kennel from other responsible breeders who have established their program for many years as we share similar visions.
There is a couple of phrases that stays true to its saying, “you get what you pay for” and “quality over quantity”. As a consumer, know what you are getting for the amount of money you are spending.
Bullies By The Lake have no issues with other breeders who retail their dogges at lesser value as they recognize their worth.
What is your process of puppy reservation and do you deliver your puppies?
My puppies DO NOT just go to anyone. This is a selective breeding program which also means selective owners. There is a written and verbal interview routine for discussion as I prefer to establish a relation with potential clients. It is highly important of where my puppies go and such concerns include the type of treatment they will receive, the living environment, etc. Failure to collaborate the interview process will result a denied reservation of puppy.
Regarding transportation options, I will either travel air or ground deliver your puppy. Each is arranged case by case at the time of adoption to determine the best and safest route of transportation. Other options are also available with third party USDA trusted and licensed pet shipping and delivery companies.
How is puppy selection decided?
People have different tastes of what they want in their puppy whether it’s size, color, markings, gender, etc. Some clients are inclined to put an advance deposit before the puppies are born so they can be the first one to pick for their likings. Others wait until the litter is born or until the puppies are advertised online for visual experience. Whichever way people choose to go, there is no pressure as a noble policy for everyone to get the puppy they want. All is fair in love and my bulldogges.
The order of puppy selection is based on the order of the security deposits that are received. An honorable placement policy order is created by the date your security deposit is accepted. Follow-up communication is expected from my clients throughout the adoption course.
A roll over policy is also put into action which means if a deposit is already accepted in advance and there is not a puppy you like in that litter, the deposit roll over to the next available litter and your placement is advance in the selection order.
